What the hell do you think Obummercare is, if not socialism and his other proclamations of "spreading the wealth"? You must be one of the morons who drank his koolaide!

If you're really against socialism, why do you use Medicare, collect medicaid and if your veteran, use the VA Hospital.\
How about tax breaks for senior citizens
All socialist programs.
But I guess when you're on the receiving end, it's okay.

You pay for medicare along with social security. I don't consider that socialized. You have to pay for the Part B plus extra for additional insurance. Medicaide is more of a socialistic program and, as far as the vets are concerned that is inadequate return for the sacrifices that they have made for this country. For your informartion I do not use any of those programs you mention and I don't know what the hell you are talking about regarding tax breaks for senior citizens. I have a CPA who handles my tax returns and every year I pay taxes. I presume that you are one of those that are on the receiving end supported by my tax dollars!

If you think that Obama is not a Socialist it could be that you are also a Socialist covering the truth. It is not time yet to come out of the Socialist Closet. You might need to change the name Liberal Progressive Democrat to something more innocent sounding now that everyone knows what a Progressive is.

You are confused Frank. There are Social programs and there are Socialist programs. Social programs use tax payer money that goes back to the tax payer. Socialist programs take money and property from the people for use by the government. A true Socialist knows how to play the word game to cover their misdeeds but there will be a day when the truth will be out in the open and the people will accept it. True Socialism is coming Frank and you will trade your freedom for it.

Not sure who you are speaking to but who said anything about hating Obama? It is a matter of politics. He was not re-elected out of love. There are other reasons in play during an election I do believe that Romney could have beat Obama if he had put up a better fight. There were a lot of wood to throw on the fire but Romney didn't want to get his hands dirty stroking the fire. The Democrats not only didn't mind getting their hands dirty but were glad to go out and gather more wood to throw on the fire against Romney's camp.

If you believe that "spreading the wealth" is a good thing, rook2c4, you are absolutely allowed to spread YOUR wealth in any manner you see fit. Many wealthy people share with others willingly. In a free society, based on individual liberty, such generosity is admired, but must not be mandatory. This country, while being the most successful of all governing systems, has always been one of the most charitable in all the world.
Just because you paint your house red, doesn't make it wise to dictate all others do the same.

Excuse me.....As a senior citizen, working and paying taxes and Social Security since I was 14 years old, I'm not getting anything I didn't work for in my social security payments.

Also, as far as using the VA for any treatment of ailments caused by my service of 30 years, I earned the treatment and the disability payment.

I get nothing, did you read NOTHING from our government that I did not earn in my lifetime. NOTHING, not like others getting cash, EBT cards and more for working the system.

The more spending, the more is produced, and thereby more jobs, and jobs with better pay. The only ones drinking the koolaide are the ones buying into the myth of trickle down economics and how wealth needs to be further concentrated among the already wealthy.

It has been written about in many books that conservatives are much more charitable than liberals. Why is it that liberals (socialists) want to spend everyone else's money but theirs?

Heard a good one recently:

We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money.

How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money?

Hey rook, go spread your wealth over in Europe then if it's so great. Why should I have to work hard, earn some money, give more than half to Michelle Obama for vacations and to lazy slobs who abuse the welfare system? I.e. Louisiana food stamp card abuse? I did not get an education and a job so I could work so that YOU wouldnt have to. Why do I wanna pay for Obummer for the lazy slobs in this sick country who are mere leeches. And I am not talking about the truly needy. Obama and his socialist policies suck. So do the morons who voted for him.

While I think it speaks well of America that a black president was elected (and that is not the problem), the particular president, with his particular designs on OUR country, is a huge problem. I can't personally relate to his spitefulness toward OUR country, and OUR citizens, but I can recognize hatred when I see it. What people are neglecting to remember is that a majority of people believe in Obama's left wing rhetoric, and believe the country needs to change towards the left. That's what appealed to them about him.

He was a community organizer, so his "roots" are with the down trodden and oppressed; he is 1/2 black and came from a broken family, so he has an affinity for the disenfranchised, despite his Yale legal education. Read Michelle's Princeton senior thesis for some more insight.

The divisive tone of the Democratic party, pitting the haves against the have notes is the culprit IMHO. It used to be in this country you pulled yourself up by your bootstraps; now, the left has complained that the bootstraps are gone and we need to take from the rich to provide for the poor.

Maybe I was wrong in a previous post, maybe the Republic is at jeopardy.

The biggest takers are in the corporate world. They pay no taxes and get government grants.
But the largest entity on the dole is the Military Industrial
Complex. Out of a GNP of 13.5 TRILLION they suck up
around half to go to war. Taken from the CIA Fact
Book about 3 years ago and it had pie charts as well.
Recently I was checking that site but they have hidden
or removed it. I think with that amount of taxpayers dollars we could easily afford health care for our citizens.
