Hitler discovers Adobe creative cloud

Not that I like being equated with Hitler because I don't like the CC (CC= Credit Card, you keep paying and paying) idea but the rage and helplessness expressed here have been expressed often since the announcement.

Be warned this contains offensive language.

I will purchase PS6 but that will be it from now on. I'm sure this falls into their plan as well.

You don't purchase CS6, It is a subscription , you pay by the month or yearly and you pay and pay and pay - but never own.

If you can any software on the shelves, you can buy it, but if you go to Adobe, the cloud is the only option.

Well I just found that out-a little behind the times-I just found PS6 upgrade on Amazon starting at 8.95 I bought the 19.95 one. This will be the last Adobe product I buy after LR5 if I can get that.

PS7 has long been dead. You mean CS7, however, there will be no CS7 either. It is now Creative Cloud.

Thanks. My PS upgrade only cost $199 per version which I usually skip a version so at 36mo intervals this would cost me $5.00/mo.

If no one purchases the subscription then Adobe will discontinue it or alter the way it works in some way. they do not want to go out of business. I see no reason to use this service when I can use something else.

Boycott Adobe do we dare??? Fear raises it's angry head again. It's not to late for those of you already subscribed cancel and for the rest rest of us continue to refuse. We can do without them and the old versions still work great.

One thing is for certain - the market will dictate the future of Adobe and it's business model. My gut hunch is that Adobe is over confident on their recent move but will have to make some sort of concessions. In fact, I think they are smart enough to have made a fall back plan in case the resistance exceeded their expectations. They could make the "old way" more expensive but not eliminate it altogether or put a clear cost difference in favor of the cloud method. Some claim it's already cheaper but they're including "if you are using everything" as the qualifier. The vast majority of single license users do not use "everything" in the suite so that argument is specious at best. Even the PS only option is more expensive than the person who skipped new release as the real world improvements were usually incremental at best.

Having looked at Gimp option the last few days it will NOT be an option for many people as it is sort of the Wild West as far as getting plugins installed and working without searching through numerous blogs and sites in the Gimp community. An example is Gimp's version of content aware. It is called Resynthesizer and has numerous versions of it all over the web with often contradicting information regarding installation. I got what I believe is the latest stable version installed after several hours of working n it but it simply does not work as fast or nearly was well as CS6 content aware. The Gimp option will work for those who want something far more robust and Corel's fairly basic programs or more powerful than Elements. I may change my opinion of the Gimp toward the better after I dig into it a little more. As far as using it is not a big jup if you are proficient in PS you just have to find the menu items you are looking for. The learning curve is not the biggest hurdle to cross. If you are a content aware fan of CS6 you will not be impressed with Gimp's version though does give you a few options to play with which PS has but little. You take what it gives but it gives a lot

Photoshop 6 is a one time investment.

CS7, okay?

One thing for sure, it is not Photoshop 6 or Photoshop 7. I used Photoshop 5 then Photoshop 7 before CS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 came on the market. There is a difference.

BTW Photoshop CS3 is actually Version 10. So I would guess that CS6 would be version 13? Just saying...
