If you go back to page one you'll see I started this brawl to begin with. I've added a few comments but sometimes it's just fun to watch. BTW my Dad is an Air Force Vietnam vet. Rode choppers doing air rescue picking up downed pilots or whoever else needing to get the hell out of a bad situation.

This original posting is a disgruntled voters opinion, it's whining. It's not Chicken Little, "The sky is falling." It's more like, "Whoa is me, the sky has already fallen, this is the end, I'm moving to Montana to join a Conservative Commune" type of talk.

Another point... "The white Christian males discovered" this country?? Wait a second, I thought it was already occupied by a race of people. . . .

According to him only certain skin tones get to vote in this country.

The original author has already admitted that the Republican party as a whole did a pretty terrible job of selecting a viable candidate in the last two National elections.

There is no viable Republican candidate as of now. When The Dims pander to the uneducated, (give me) voters it's a lost battle since the takers now outnumber the producers. That will only change when there is no more to give the takers. Then when entitlements are cut you'll see the US dealing with what Greece has had to deal with.

I was talking about in 2008 the Republican voters gave the nomination to a long standing Senator because he had patiently waited in line long enough and they thought he deserved it... and in 2012 they gave it to a rich white guy that thought he deserved it.

They played the game wrong. And all it is a game. Guess who the losers are? You and me. We have the next few years to deal with it while Congress goes through the usual deadlock bullshit and then we elect another figurehead to sit back and have his strings pulled and life goes on.

“There is neither right nor wrong, it is the mind that makes it so”. We all need to stop and ask ourselves, why are we all so divided. I hear discussion about the majority. In our most recent presidential election, one side received 62 million of the votes and the other side 59 million. Can we really say that one side got the “real” majority ? 59 million people didn’t agree with the other side. 59 million people! The so-called majority are not going to force it down the throats of 59 million other people. Our problems run a lot deeper.

We all want the same thing, i.e. a good job, a nice house, good health and happiness. Why can’t we all work toward those objectives. I’m so tired of hearing Democrat or Republican. Can you go out and buy anything that doesn’t say, “Made in China” ? That’s one problem. Why does the Commissioner of Football deserve to make $40 million ? Why does anyone need to be unemployed ? Why should anyone get an unemployment check without contributing something back to the betterment of society ? These days you can have your check mailed to you while you’re on the beach in the Bahamas. Congress sits on their derriere’ and fiddles while the country is burning. Do something. Obama keeps saying that the problem is that the Republicans don’t come over to his side. When’s the last time you heard him say anything positive about the other side? If a Corporation ran their business like the U.S. Government does they would be filing bankruptcy in no time. All of us are somewhat to blame because we are a bunch of weak links in the huge chain. I truly do feel sorry for our children and grandchildren. If you think you’re right, pause for a moment and educate yourself on the subject matter. You just might find out that you were wrong …….. or right .

Good wording! I applaud you but someone will take it the wrong way and then, here we go again. The politico keeps doing the same old crap and the same dumbass voters keep sending them back. It's kind of like the hamster on the wheel except the wheel is about to fall off.

Great point however the big Corporations do run their businesses like this, that's why the government (who the corporations paid good money for) bailed them out with our money.

Of all the corporations in the country, how many has the government bailed out? A small percentage but they were very big players. The automotive industry and financial firms that were too big to let fail. It was a probably the only option at the time even though I don't believe in government interference in the capitalist system. If you can't run a business and make a profit, tough. It's time to learn from your mistakes and learn how to compete. This is your last chance. Look at how far we have come in the automotive industry since the only thing we could come up with to battle the fuel efficient Japanese autos were the Pinto and Vega. What a joke. The key to reviving American production is a little less government interference. The key to the financial meltdown might involve (I hate to say it) a little more over sight. The problem here is the politicians on both sides will be kissing ass, loading up everything with "pork" in order to be life long politicians with all their benefits and say the hell with us "commoners". Whew! I feel much better now. Let the bullshit begin.

pounder35, you are correct in that a number of large companies, banks, etc. were high flyers and operated recklessly and irresponsible at the expense of the stockholder. My train of thought in using a Corporation as an example related to the fact that a corporation has an Asset and Liability statement and annually an income and expense budget is prepared. They just don't make sure that they have a balanced budget, they expect to turn a profit. In my opinion, deregulation of the banking industry hasn't helped. Being from the banking industry, I always said that we worked on the 3-6-3 principal back in the 1960's and 1970's. That is, we got the money in at 3%, loaned it back out at 6% and were on the golf course by 3. Hey, it worked !!! Banks didn't fail during that period until greed started setting in and people just got too smart.

And my gun survey proves your point. As I stated when I posted the survey, over 90% of Americans favor universal background checks. But the ultra conservatives on this forum only favor checks by a 58-42 margin.

I am willing to bet that on any issue, the righties on this forum are out of touch with the majority of Americans, and they keep proving my point with their insane conspiracy theories and unattributed claptrap like this post.

Thank god the nutjobs on this forum don't represent the majority views of normal Americans. We live in a center left country, not an extreme right one. Survey after survey proves my point. Ultra right wingers will live a much happier life when they realize that compromise is the key to moving this country forward.

You are so full of yourself it is pathetic. Your "gun survey". I know you are smart enough to rig a survey. Where was in conducted - here on UHH. A forum where the majority are liberals; that's going to produce accurate results.

Many on here think you are the nut job. The majority of the nation at this point is liberal. The majority also cannot tell you what the Constitution is for. If you ask where the House of Representatives is located; they will give you directions to their local city hall.

The original post is someone's opinion about the current times. There is nothing to "attribute". You don't agree with the opinion so it becomes an excuse to malign everyone that disagrees with your limited view of the world.

The polls done by professionals, nationwide, indicate that the majority do not want more gun laws. They want more enforcement of what we already have. Sounds like a conservative view to me.

You are correct. The primaries for the Republicans were a sham. The candidate was decided before the first speech was given. Going with that program it is a dead party.

Watch Atlas Shrugged 1 & 2 to see where we are headed.

I remember reading Atlas Shrugged when I was in college but hadn't heard of the sequel movie so I looked up a writeup of it on Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Shrugged:_Part_II

Is it supposed to be a comedy? It sounds hilarious.

I think it is funny how the youth of today cannot see the difference between a novel and actual history. This book has become a bible to many of them.

Now that's scary!

The book simply filled a nich in their lives. It gave reason for their actions and beliefs.

It is still just a novel. Many of these college age kids think it is a bible for doing business. Apparently they no longer teach the difference between a reference book and a novel.

I'm not bigoted at all. You make that assumption based on something I forwarded from another email. I didn't say I agreed or disagreed with the content. I just threw it out there to see what the response would be. So now I have another lab rat to work with. Thank you for your participation. As I see it right now, judging from the feedback of the so called "open minded" liberals you a venomous group that spews out as much hatred as the Klan. Keep going. The end of the maze is near. Then we'll try something a little more challenging.
