Just post it Ken, this is how you learn and get better. I'm still new at this as well as probably half the people on here. Almost always its constructive criticism! If we were all professionals we probably wouldn't be on here.
Hope you post it!
Debbie
Kenn54,
Welcome to a great forum! You have come to the right place to learn. I too have just joined recently and am a hobbist. We all have to start somewhere and for most of us newbies, you take a million pictures and have maybe a handful that you consider "good", but every time I get my camera out it's that much more experience for me and my middle name is becoming "keep practicing"
Please don't be afraid to post, as others have stated you have to start somewhere, and believe me, everyone on here had to start at the beginning just like you and I.
Again, welcome aboard and tag, your it, come on now, let's see a picture or two.
Debbie
(and if you read enough posts, you'll see I had to call upon everyone for help with my camera settings that I screwed up, but again, I'm learning and things happen) :)

what I have found is that new photographers tend to UNDERESTIMATE their talent. I have been a photographer for 44 years, yet am constantly amazed at the quality and composition of photos posted by brand new photographers.
What's that hat Frank is wearing?

Every time I think I have taken a georgous picture. I look at this website and feel like such an amature Iam embarrassed to post any of my pictures however being a newbie Iam dying to hear what somebody thinks of the pics I take. If I finally get up the courage to post a picture please take it easy on me.
I'm trying my best to learn but frankly just do not know what makes a great picture from a mediocre one. Thank you all for all for your post I learn a little more from each one.

Ken, just jump in, you will get the good the bad and the ugly of advice, we all do, mostly we understand that everyone is on a different rung of the learning ladder, we try to encourage each other and when we see a shot that shows great improvement by one of the gang we let them know they done good  I have not been a memeber very long, but just about every time I'm on here I learn something new. So join in and have fun with us. I look forward to seeing your first post.

Idon't have a clue about his hat. the photo was from Sinatra's old variety show on tv. Elvis apeared for one episode and they did a duet with Frank singing Hound dog and Elvis did witchcraft. My 2 favorite performers, throw in Johnny Cash, and Buddy Holly what a quartet that would have been

You WILL get criticisim, but constructive
You don't necessarily have to give criticism in the Photo Gallery.
If you want to be a critic perhaps head over to the Photo Analysis section.
Kenm54,
Don't let JR 1/2 spook you. POST IT!
If you don't try you can never succeed.
