Just got back from an Alaskan vacation up the Inside Passage. Introduced to a new plant called devils claw. And what a mean devil it is! (it's like our prickly pear here in TX but much worse)
It has medicinal values though, and I was interested to know if anyone has had any experience with this plant and what it's good for ? Please let me know. Thanks, rpm (Pic. below)

It's called 'Devil's Club', and yes the spines are terrible to grab on to. I had some growing in my garden for a few years but got rid of them when a small kid grabbed one by the stalk. Her whole hand swelled up and she cried for hours.

I have used Devil claw root as painkiller or pain reducer for horses. i dont know if and how the root is prepared, you can most likely by it in a herb store or larger horse shop
