Well done, Tom. I'm quite envious of your blue colors. We put all that acid stuff on each year but we still get pink. Which are fine, quite pretty but would love blue!

Makes me sad to see your pictures, Tom. Not because you're pictures aren't good. They are VERY nice, with good color. But it disappoints me because I planted three hydrangea bushes last year and they were coming up nicely and very healthy--then the deer found them--and my roses, and my Oriental lilies, and---- Oh well. I guess we've invaded their territory, but they still have a lot of other things to eat. It's just that flowers seem to appeal to them more than plain greenery. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to be able to discourage them, something easier than splashing wolf urine around? -- Jackie

They should really be on their way by now, Angela. Not even little buds starting to form? I hope you get something going soon.
I was lucky and managed to get hundreds of blooms on one bush on one bush.

Thank you, CarlySue. I wouldn't mind having a pink one just to have a different color. I don't do anything except trim extraneous limbs out each year.

I'm sorry to hear about your deer problem. I also have deer coming through the property but they've never touched the Hydrangea. They do like a couple bushes at my next door neighbor's but that's about it. Try sprinkling Cayenne pepper on them. That might help. Sprinkle it in the morning while they're damp with dew and it'll stick better.

Thank you, Donna. I leave them all on until they disappear on their own or I might clip a few for a fall arrangement. They are really abundant this year. They're one of my favorites to photograph.
P.S. You had Whooping Cough? I didn't realize adults could get it. Is there a vaccine one could take for it? It dragged along for a good while, huh?
