Howdy! My name's Ray and I just received my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D3400 with a couple of lenses and other goodies. I'm into my second day of self education, seems there's a lot more to learn than I ever dreamed of as I know absolutely nothing about photography. We love our Nikon DX cameras and lenses, and have had a lot of fun in the past two years since we switched to DSLR. I'd strongly advise reading the manual and maybe even getting a slim paperback guide to stick in your bag. I've found the Magic Lantern series to be pretty concise yet thorough.
