Sometime back someone ask about shooting male nudes. These are from my second attempt , the first was a disaster, within the first five mins,I told the "model" the shoot
was over. He didn't get the message in the pre shoot meeting I wanted "Artistic" images not porn.
Elisha was a good model with a big ego.
Upon reviewing these image I see I should have had a little light on the back ground to get some separation on the model's hair.
Camera: D70 Nikon
Lighting:1 Alien Bee B400 in a 30X60 softbox using 2 sheets of Roscoe Amber gel
processed in Photoshop CS4 or 5

Male nudes are tough. Something is always getting in the way. LOL

The pose and the lighting are nicely showing off his physique. Hair lighting, I don't see much missed without it but I agree except for one thing - I think a very dim light upon his hair, not the background would have been better.

Thank you for looking and commenting.
The most difficult part is finding models who know what artistic nude means.

Thank you very much, a hair light would have worked, but made posing difficult , placement would have been more critical

Great model, great body, nice pose, very well-done, tasteful photograph on an always tough subject matter. Agree a little lighting on background would have not only given separation for his hair but also so his face did not fade into the background too. It may have helped outline his lower left leg too which mostly disappears now, especially in the B&W shot.

Well done; the exposure and pose really work with his physique.

OK, OK, you have convinced me to go to the fitness center today.... Men, and horses are fine examples of muscle development... women curvature and softness so easier. You have done well.

Nicely done, Manglesphoto. I think the lighting is quite nice. Perhaps a bit of hair light would work, but the photo, as done, is quite a nice light/shadow study.
