Too bad they don't want you to take photographs inside the treasury. Now that was something! More gold and silver in one place.... The churches, one for the czars' baptisms, one for weddings, and one for funerals. The Kremlin is a fascinating place. Moscow was a complete surprise, very western, very modern.

I agree that Russia was a surprise. Looks like a typical Western Europe country. Lots of art, and classic buildings.
We were on a tour. Don't recommend a westerner tour on their own: can't read the signs, can't speak the language. Nevertheless, we found the people friendly.
