After some thought, I have decided I will pass on purchasing your lens. If I get a lens I want to have the capability to maintain the f2.8 throughout the zoom range. Good luck on your sale.

I shoot with a Sigma DC 17-70 f2.5-4 Macro HSM on my crop sensor Sony. For a while,I considered the lens a dude, because the photos were generally soft but occasionally one would be very sharp. Testing revealed to me tha the focus was inconsistent, somethings back focus, sometimes front focus. I sent the lens along with my camera body to Sigma who performed some kind of magic. Now the lens is crisp on every shot, with either of my two Sony bodies. This lens is always on one of my cameras. Since Sigma serviced it, it's a very good lens.
