If you observed a 300+lb black bear 10' outside your window in your backyard tearing up bird feeders, would you grab your pellet rifle or your camera to shoot him? I am so disappointed.........š
Camera....but stay inside and shoot through the window!!!
Camera , don't have a pellet rifle or gun. Outside near the door, hell with windows. Grab a few apples to get his attention. :)
Camera... what a photo-op! Besides, that pellet gun isn't going to do anything except piss him off.š³
No brainer, camera of course lol.

That is similar to a conversation piece...."Saw an old beggar woman sitting by the roadside. Down on her luck and five children to support, and no help from social services""
Oh yes, so what did you give her??
"Ah!. 1/125th at f/8".
Iād grab my Nikon P900 to give me some distance!

That's what I did at my parents out in PA. Camera through window with a Canon ae-1 years ago.

A couple of years ago, a good friend and neighbor called me for help because a snake was in the process of devouring a toad in her backyard. I was over in five minutes with my bag. She was very disappointed when I whipped out a camera rather than a gun. So we let nature run its course.
Off Course my Camera! but call the Park Ranger too!

I've done that but without the apples. The bear was eating seeds off the ground and had a lot to choose from. And the bear had an injured foot. Only way I'd stay inside is if it was a sow with cubs...
When I walked into my sister's kitchen and found her St. Bernard and my German Shepherd, feet up on the counter, sharing the roast that was supposed to be Sunday dinner I ran out to my car and grabbed a camera. I wasn't very popular until I developed the film and sent pictures to the undernourished. Besides, everyone enjoyed the pizza.

Yes, camera first and keep inside, But in case of things going south, have a 12ga. shotgun lock and load at the at my side, no dam pellet gun.
Neither. Protected species.
Camera? What for? It's a bear to cross.

I'm assuming you are referring to the story in the news recently where a home owner shot and killed a bear who was messing with his bird feeder.
