Years ago I shot film and agonized over each shot. Learning was such a slow process. With what I am now learning from classes, online tutorials, and going out with people who know what they are doing, I am able to practice work flows that move me along much faster. What really impresses me is how people see the picture within the picture. I go out with a guy who has been doing this for years, we shoot the same pictures and he is always able to pull art out of his photos. I hope to get there someday.

Welcome aboard. And I share your pain. Technically, I can take a good photo. But the Art photography is coming slowly. Be patient and practice. That's the good part of digital. Practice all you want, throw away what you don't like.

I came kicking and screaming from film into digital, you couldn't pay me enough to go back.

And be sure to have a focus for your practice.

I'm beginning to think along those lines. I think this camera club I joined kind of points that direction.

Welcome to UHH. I'm equally divided between film and digital. This year, so far, more film than digital. Too much fun, I think.
