Hi Guys, I want to crop this car out of the background so I can paste it into other pics. A PNG file would be great but I have no idea how to produce one. Can anyone help me crop it. If you can, please leave the pic in it's original size if possible.? The aerial is not needed...Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ron.

If your a Photoshop user you really need the pen tool for this. Watch a vid tutorial on Youtube showing how to use it and with 30 mins practice you will have mastered it. The other Photoshop tools to select items may struggle as the car merges into the background in places.
Once you background is eliminated select the car by clicking on it in the layers panel then hit Ctrl/j and your car will be on a new layer. Go>File Save as and save as a PNG file which will have a transparent background.

Unfortunately, there is not enough contrast between the car and the background making the job of isolating the car very, very difficult. The roofline of the car is reflecting the background so much that they are virtually the same color in some areas. Almost impossible to separate the two. As mentioned by battlebots, it would require an enormous amount of time and skill with a pen to do the job correctly. I like to tackle challenges like this but this one would require way too many hours.

There are some little used selection tools in PS that might help:
Color Range, Focus Area & Subject.
Experiment with these to see which gets the best results.

This is not a PNG but it might give a better starting point than the original. As mentioned by others, selection isn't easy due to lack of contrast and colour difference, and added to that is noise making the edges rougher than they might have been. I don't have PNG as an export option.

I hope there's something here that helps.

Thank you R.G....yes, should have taken the shot outside in better light in hindsight...you've done a beaut job of isolating it this far...incidentally, I don't have Photoshop at this time so I'm a bit short on any
"professional" editing tools.
Cheers and than you,
Ron.

You're welcome. I've just noticed there's a remnant of the shadow under the car -

I cut the car out , cleaned up a lot of the areas , etc , and saved it as a PNG for you . You will need a program that will allow you to install a PNG into another photo . You can use this copy or another one , You won't hurt my feelings .Tommy

If you came to this posting and saw no photo , it was because I removed it to clean up some areas that showed up after opening photo in download
