I took some shots today with my Tamron 18-400 and 10-24 wide angle lenses using a Nikon D5300. I was in the Palisades Interstate Park, Ft. Lee, NJ. So far I'm very pleased with these 2 new lenses. I would welcome any critique.

Thanks,

Like the 3rd one best! Noticed the Little Red Lighthouse in the pics. Ever been there? Worth a looksee!

Upon downloading and hitting the + they look a bit soft from here. I would suggest stopping down to f8 and raising the ISO a bit, or better yet use a good tripod (still go with f8.)

I was using a tripod but mostly set the A at 5/6. I'll look into setting it at 8 next time but how will that help?

You'll get a better depth of field and better detail. Also use a remote release and raise the mirror first if your not doing that already. I also like to manually focus instead of relying on AF in many instances.

Check out these postings both shot at f8 according to the Exif data.

Thank you, I do use the remote to trigger and will consider manual focus in the future, thank you again!
