We will be in Iceland for 14 days this summer, driving the Ring Road, snaefelksness Peninsula and the Latrabarg Cliffs. Does anyone have any suggestions on “don’t miss” things to see and places to photograph?

Bring lots of cash or your credit card will work in most all places
I would recommend that you go to Seydisfjordur. If you are coming from the south coast, when you start to head north, leave rt 1 for 939. Take 939 to 95. That proved to be a scenic route. Take 95 to Egilsstadir. From there take 93 to Seydisfjordur. In Egilsstadir there is a Pizza restaurant called Skalinn which is located inside a Shell gas station which is surprisingly good. We arrived at dusk on a Friday and they had an all you could eat deal. We were there first but the place filled up. They kept bringin out all kinds of pizza and pasta. A good value for Iceland. There is also a market there, but a bigger market is across the street.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Be prepare for sticker shock! If you like to eat well, it will cost a great deal. Don't miss the show How To Be An Icelander at the new concert hall. Go into the glacier, spend the money, it was worth it for the experience.
Look up Mads Peter Iverson on YouTube. He has a great video series on Iceland.
If you intend to off the main roads onto say F roads you will need a 4wheel drive.

Make sure you let your credit card companies that you will be out of country for the dates you will be on your trip.
Get a PIN chip card. Every place takes them. Pick up $20 worth of Icelandic money at an ATM just in case.

I don't know how far $20.00 of their money would get you. You can get from your bank foreign currency. We always get at least two hundred and split it. When you get to your hotel you have to tip a variety of people. Cabs....blah...blah.
A lot sheep and puffins to see. Those birds are usually high up the hills that you might need a lens with some reach to take good pictures of. Bring a tripod if your going to try to take shots of the borealis. A good wide angle for all the breath taking vistas, waterfalls, and glaciers
We rented a car, so didn’t have any cab costs or tipping needs, but I took out $50 and had $25 left when we got back to the airport after a 7 day trip. We never came across a place that didn’t take a chip card.
We went in March, so it may have been worse than summer will be, but beware the wind. It can rip the car door out of your hand if you aren’t careful.
Do not miss the Golden Circle out of Reykjavik that will include Thingvellir National Park, Geysir, and Guillfoss (most amazing double waterfalls).
