Beautiful night scene.

Thanks. It is my favorite time of the day to shoot.

Outstanding photo Larry

Thank you nimbushopper. This was one of my objectives when I went to Maine. I'm really glad it turned out this well.
Sadly, the rest of the trip was very cloudy.

Really nice job in getting this shot.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Are you sure that isn't your favorite Maine lighthouse, Larry? Because this shot is really "kickin."

Hang around for a few days. I have two more lighthouses to show from my trip. After you see those, then decide. I post from one of the others tomorrow. Wish the weather would have been a bit better for one of the other lighthouses, but I still got some images. I'm looking forward to hearing which is your favorite after you see the others.

Side note----I don't dislike this lighthouse but...

Amazing shot. I've been going there all my life and it's very rare to see a photo of that's truly original.

You've really got a winner there.

Just a question, why so much non detail foreground and very little detailed night sky?

I think it is because the foreground got more light and it hides the noise better. Most night shots have noise due to the high ISO needed and noise hides in shadows. At least that is my guess, but what do I know?? :-)

I am familiar with the Nubble Light, also called Cape Neddik Light. My photography has been during daytime hours, never at night.
This is an outstanding shot.

Please don't take this wrong, but really try shooting in the golden hour or the blue hour. It will make a great deal of difference. Also, shoot in bad weather. Both situations make for interesting photos.

Thanks for the compliment.

Nice, Larry. The download is beautiful--the thumbnail is nice, too; but it doesn’t do the photo justice at all.

Right you are. Downloads are sooo much better to look at.

Glad you liked the image.

As always, thank you.

Great! I guess that's why it's called a lighthouse.

Thank you so much. Coming from a native like you makes your compliment even more meaningful.

I think your photo of the Nubble lighthouse is one, if not the best, and most dramatic shots I have ever seen. Congratulations!
