Hi Jerry,
Sure makes it hard to keep looking out at our cold gray days around here. I have to live vicariously through you for a while, not booking any weddings until my house is rebuilt from the flood. (all permits are done, and we close on the construction loan next week, so we're getting there)

Do you do most of your processing in Lightroom? Looks a lot like what my style is morphing into. (I tend to like to raise the shadows, I like that look. A few years ago, I was more into lowering the saturation, but found that people didn't choose those as often as the brighter, more colorful, but not "crazy" saturation.)

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy seeing your work.
Bob

I do 99% of post work in LR and 1% in PS.

Here is a fun snap from Saturday .....

I'm very careful in my post work not to over saturate. Yes I love color but I want to stay in the realistic bounds of what it really looked like.

You can see my off-camera flash in this picture ... love off-camera speed lights :)

This resembles the "light and airy" look that is popular now. I do like it for outside shots & have a Lightroom preset for that purpose.

Jerry, this is a wonderful creative shot which is a great representation of the reception. It looks like you nestled in with the band waited for the scene to open up.

Thanks Jay ....

Here is another creative shot that captures the reception and the fun of the evening ...

Really dragging the shutter to capture as much of the outline of the building.

Wow, the foreground, subject and background are all powerful. You have a great composing eye and I suspect you orchestrated much of it. I will attempt to steal these ideas, but I am afraid I would have to come to California to do it

Your two lights behind the dancers. Were they on very high light stands or mounted on something?

Also, just noticed you shot at 1/25. Were you using a tripod to help with shake and or a flash on camera?

Lights on stands, about 12 feet up. No tripod, handheld and yes on-camera flash as well as the off-camera on the the stands, a total of 3 flashes. We share to help each other .... please 'steal' the ideas :)

I have already stolen your off camera starburst effect during the reception. It is working well. Used a blue gel on the last one
