GIMP 2.10.0 is stable and available for download. This is the first dramatic change in six years. The GIMP people have made many desirable changes and now GiMP ver. 2.10.0 works very closely the same as brand named paid programs. Check it out and download at www.gimp.org !

In the windows version (wish they had it for Mac) does it handle raw files yet or do you need to convert them before use?

In the second paragraph of the GIMP site they say it is applicable for the OS X system in addition to the Windows versions.

Thanks for the info. Had been meaning to reload GIMP since re doing my computer. Time to start learning it again.

I do have Darktable on my iMac loaded, but unfortunately the new version of GIMP is not available yet for the iMac OS.
