Any custom strap makers out there?

I recently had a Rolleimagic overhauled and I was looking at it last night and realized that the strap on the case is ready to kick the bucket. Is anyone aware of a craftsman out there that might take the hardware from the original strap/case and incorporate it into a new strap that isn't going to drop the camera on the ground?

Thanks,

Bob

A leather worker, any leather oriented hobby shops near you? Even a shoe repair place might be able to do it (good luck finding one). Another choice might be someone who makes holsters and such for shooters.

Bob, I would find a good old fashioned shoe maker shop and they should be able to fix you up correctly. Here is a guy in Lake Zurich that I can vouch for to do an outstanding job.

You might look into this leather craftsman: www.etsy.com/shop/MattesonLeatherWorks

I don't think he's done much if any photography equipment but should be able to make anything you want if you have the original. He started out making guitar straps (he plays bass), which shouldn't be too different to make than a camera strap. Btw, he just happens to be my son.

There are several leather camera strap craftspeople on Etsy. Go to Etsy.com and search. Some do custom work.

I want to thank all of you for your responses. I'll check them all out, particularly Tony's Shoe Clinic as he is the guy I use for all of my shoes here in Oak Park, IL.
