I shot this timed exposure at F4.5, ISO 100, for 13 seconds (approximately), and I did the post processing in Luminar 2018 (cropped) and slight adjustment. This is the first timed exposre I have done and thought perhaps you could give me some feedback..

I've been doing some long exposures with my SL1 and just found out that the exposure time shows a count-down on the live-view screen. ( I've only had the camera for three years. ) I have one photo with an exposure of 68 seconds. I knew I wanted to do a long exposure so I was trying to count down the seconds in my head ( One 100 two 100, three 100) then I happened to look at the back of the camera and realized the camera was showing the seconds for me. 🙇🏼

The center of the photo appears to be sharp but the sides are a little blurred . I wonder what would happen if you increased your f-stop to F8?

I've shot the moon many times and have often encountered this. The moon travels quite a distance in space in 13 seconds. You probably are experiencing some image blur. I'd up your ISO to shorten your exposure time. If you go up to 400, you will shorten your exposure time by a factor of 4. A 3 second exposure will give you less motion blur.

I get a very nice exposure of the moon with: ISO 200, f/8, 1/200sec. It IS a reflection of the sun and long exposures usually lead to very over exposed shots. Camera was a Canon SX50.

I love it. The moon is pretty bright, so you achieved an interesting result with your slow shutter technique. We've been clouded in here the last two full moon cycles, so I haven't had a chance to capture the moon with my new 200-500mm, f/5.6 lens. You've set the bar pretty high ;-)

Heh heh, since I'm new I suppose I can accidentally get an acceptable one occasionally. Didn't really know what I was doing. :) I had heard things move so you didn't want to go too long on star exposures, unless you wanted trails, I just assumed the moon was the same, never really thought about the relative speeds of the two, or their brightness. Nevertheless, thank you for your kind words. :) It's an encouragement that I appreciate, rdechsler. :)
