Every single individual matters.

Every single individual makes some sort of impact on the planet every single day.

And we have a choice as to what kind of difference we're going to make.

I met her at a symposium in December 1973 in SF, CA. I also met Diane Fossey at the same event. Diane was quiet and shy back then, long before she went mad! These days Dr. Goodall is essentially a spokesperson for nature and all living things.

I don't know if you meant "GOT" mad, but I don't think Dian Fossey ever "WENT" mad ??? She definitely became a raging, outspoken advocate, but that's not the same thing.

It's so very unfortunate that Dian died too young to complete her work - - we're glad that we still have Jane...

No, Dian Fossey actually did go insane and pissed off some local Ugandans who machete'd her to death for kidnapping and torturing their kids. You didn't read the news back then or see the gruesome movie about the end of her life?

Here is some more recent news on the issue. I remember much of it from way back when it happened. As I recall do to her radical if not militant and irresponsible behavior the National Geographic Society pulled its funding and ended its association with her. https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/secrets-mist-new-documentary-investigates-11634793 This is all very sad and unfortunate for the research she did on these wonderful close-to-human animals.

Maybe, but I would have to research much more information before I went along with those conclusions and was not impressed with the quality of that link. I have subscribed to National Geographic for many years, but must have missed this information and don't read every article but have seen enough of these kinds of revelations over the years that I try not to form an opinion either way before checking a number of credible sources.

I was not too happy with that link either but I was not able to find much on that part of the topic on the web in a reasonable amount of time. Too long ago and too much on Ms. Fossey in general to filter thru. I've subscribed to the National Geographic since 1970 and at one point had every issue since 1953 (I was born in 1954). They were taking up way too much room and so we had to thin my collection down to a few that really interested me and the last few years issues.

Back when there weren't many uncredible sources about topics as obscure as Primatology. No FaceBook or other Web nonsense back then.
