Its big, wide, expansive country; that's what I saw, and that's what I tried to capture. Each of these are made up of from three to a dozen separate images; several, in their un-reduced state, measure up to 50 inches wide. (PEFO is, of course, the NPS acronym for Petrified Forest National Park, AZ.)

Cany, Nice pictures! Are they just panoramic or are they also HDR or focus stacked? They all seem very sharp and clear.

Thanks, SAVH. Just panoramic, mostly. Technically, no HDR, but plenty of local and global manipulation to suit my aesthetic and to match the mood, for good or for ill. As to focus stacking, ever try doing that in a scene where the wind might be blowing like crazy? Doesn't work particularly effectively, especially where there are moveable objects.

Thank you. I have not accomplished either HDR or focus stacking but I do read about it here often. I am getting a D-850 when it finally arrives and I hope to try HDR as that may solve some of my landscape picture problems. I don't really know about focus stacking either but some seem to use it to great effect for close-ups of flowers as well as scenics. Thanks for taking the time to let me know how you do it.

Awesome and inspiring panoramas.

The last time I processed a series of photographs from the Nikon D850 into panoramas, my workflow is to merge in Lightroom, adjust exposure, etc then edit in Photoshop. In Photoshop, after a few Topaz filters, the file size was 2.6 Gb ( !! ), which exceeded the Adobe PSD file max of 2 Gb. I had to Save As a TIFF to get back to Lightroom.

rgrenaderphoto, Could you please let me know what Topaz filters are (I'm presuming they are some sort of add-on program) and what they do for the PP? Thank you.

What an excellent series, Cany143!! I'm especially drawn to lighting in #2, really sets the mood like a storm is a-brewin'! And I love the mood of desolation in all but especially in #4 with the telephone lines going on and on and on. Well done!

Thanks, rgrenaderphoto. Sounds like your and my workflows are pretty similar. Not working with a D850 <drooooool>, though, so far none of my panos have gotten much beyond 1.5 Gb or so. As detailed/sharp/depth-y as any of these things might be, it always bothers me having to reduce these things down to 5 Mb (or whatever) .jpg files to post. Feels like a reduction toward absurdity somehow. I'm absolutely sure you know what I mean.
