Another view of BIF

I just discovered this forum and thought "how cool." One of my favorite BIF groups to capture is when Sandhill Cranes are flying in front of the moon. We only have a few opportunities each year to do this here in New Mexico. The best afternoon is the day before full moon as that allows about a half hour of sunlight after the moon rises in the east. Somethings in November when this magic time arrives, the Sandhill Cranes may not have arrived in quanity. So we are left with December and January since the birds head north in February. Clouds can and do cause problems so we hope for the best. I just thought I'd throw this in to the BIF/BOW forum. Thanks.

Your patience and planning paid off. Amazing sometimes-all you need is one or two "Wow!" pictures to make it all worthwhile. These are great.

Great shots! I attempted to do the same thing here in Az at the last super moon but mine did not come out nearly as good as yours. It's tricky getting both in good enough focus when the light is fading. And the birds have to be in the right position. Lots of ifs which is what makes your images special. Next year though -

We had the moon at Gatorland last February but the ospreys I was shooting for refused to cooperate and always turn just before going by
