Hi. My name is Bob and I am now currently living in Green Valley, Arizona. I relocated from Maryland in 2015. I am a newbie just getting into the digital age. I just bought a Nikon D3200 for my first decent digital camera. I am looking to get into flower and cactus shots. I am looking for a fairly less expensive macro lens for my Nikon. Can someone suggest a lens?
Thanks and have a great day!!!
Welcome to the forum.
Looking forward to images of Arizona!
Welcome to UHH Bob, glad you joined us. I use a Nikkor 105mm micro lens which might be in your price range. I might ask this question in the macro section of the forum to get more info. Click on the "Home feature at the top of the page and then "All Sections" on the nest page. You will find the macro section there but you can also subscribe to any other sections of the forum that interst you.
Have fun, learn and enjoy the forum.

You bought a nice entry level camera that should serve you for some time, but you will want to upgrade in the near future if you are truly interested in photography. I would suggest that you invest wisely in your lenses, saving your money for buying full frame lenses. There are fine DX lenses out there for a lower cost, but where you may use FX lenses on a DX camera, you are not advised to use DX lenses on a full frame body, so if you ever decide to upgrade to a full frame body, the money you have invested in DX lenses is basically lost. That said, a Nikkor Micro lens in a 60mm or 105mm would be a great choice. If your subjects are inanimate and you can get close, the 60mm will work fine.
Greetings......I'm a newbie myself....I bought a Tokina 100mm macro....Great reviews....got one on e-bay for $210.00 most are a little more...275 to 350 range, but the lens has done a nice job so far. Welcome to the "Hog" respectfully trainspotter

Hey Bob. I also shoot with a D3200. I can't recommend macro as that's out of my genre but glad you're here and good shooting to you!
Welcome to the Forum Bob, enjoy. Look into a Tokina 100mm ATX-pro macro, very good lens and fairly inexpensive.
Welcome Bob. Enjoy it here.

Welcome to the hog.
Cactus have really pretty flower, I was surprised. I'll look forward to some shots of the cactus there. Here's one from a Florida cactus. We're so dry and the ground is all sand so we actually have a lot of cactus here also.
