I went to the Photography Show in Birmingham yesterday, it was an excellent exhibition and all the camera manufacturers, all the lens makers and several major camera dealers were there.
There was one notable exception, there was no sign of Adobe PhotoShop although there were several other well-known photo editors in attendance.
Adobe obviously has no interest in the UK market.

I don't think they care about anyone but themselves.
They have just fell into the "Go To" and that keeps them well into the black.

Adobe perhaps assumes that they are so well known that they are the Kleenex of editing. OH! Kleenex was a brand and till is but it has become generic any edited photo has been "photo-shopped." Also word of mouth has made LR and PS well known and Pros and Newbies will get it, those in between will select other programs... Affinity for $50 a UK product is hot now. And... also does Adobe want to be in the slums with those impure low life products. [PS: I use low life products for editing PSPro, Affinity and an older PSE]

When you have a virtually monopoly, is advertising necessary? I'm surprised they weren't there, though, because with resistance to the subscription plan, competitors are selling lots of free-standing software.

Kleenex, cellophane, xerox, hoover (in England), scotch tape, and even Kodak years ago. Lots of brand names have become generic.

I think it was Wrigley (of the chewing gum fame) that said "Advertising is like an engine pulling a steam train, when the coal runs out, the train slows down and eventually will stop".

Was Phase One Capture One there? Looks to me like they are well known in the UK and a big competitor. I'm fairly well versed with Photoshop but have been thinking about getting Capture one. In some instances it looks like they out perform Photoshop. A lot of money and a big learning curve again.

Affinity still needs some more polish, just last night I found a little bug with a photo in prophotoRGB color space Affinity photo sends it in SRG to nik colorefxpro4 a huge difference in color and tone, it makes the return completely different from what you expected. Hopefully it will be addressed in a forthcoming beta.

As a work around exporting as a 16 bit tiff and dropping it on colorefxpro4 does work as expected when its saved over the top it can simply be copied in finder and pasted from the clipboard as a layer in affinity photo.

Of course they are interested in the UK market, as well as all the other markets available! But they only choose photo exhibits, important to them, to represent themselves at it!

Hi I went to the photographic show as well. Adobe had a huge theatre at the far right of the show, and had running talks on lightroom, photoshop et al. Only problem was one had to book to watch the shows. So I couldn’t attend. I thought the whole show was really good especially the smaller accessories booths. So much to see and mull over. I was knackered after about three hours. Well worth the visit tho.

I was sure I had covered the whole floor, obviously not, apologies to Photoshop.
