Beautiful! We don't have them west of the Cascades. One of the things I miss from my earlier years.

Very nice! Like other birds in the crow family, they can be annoying because they are so smart.

If your camera has an Exposure Compensation option; try +1 or maybe +2. This should bring out detail in the totally black areas w/o lousing up the rest of the bird.

Great shots, love these birds! When I lived in California, we saw many yellow billed magpies. In Colorado, they have the larger, black billed magpies. They look awesome in flight as well.

You have some great shots of the Magpie; the downloads are beautiful.

I think the Magpie is a very beautiful bird. Their range is not near me I have to drive over a thousand miles to see them.
