This is heartbreaking, I’m appalled that it exists, but we’re at a loss to change their ways...when I was in Vietnam in 1969, there was a papasan who worked around our hooch. We had a dog who wondered into our area, we adopted him and cleaned him up and was there as our pet. One day, Papasan looked at our dog and said number one chop chop. Meaning, he’d be a great meal, I looked at Papasan and told him, he’d be a number ten “no stay” papasan. That ended that our conversation, we couldn’t bring back those dogs we assimilated as our pets. I hoped the best for our pooch, tried not to think about his doomed future. I hug my eleven year old dog and treat him to all the walks and enjoyment he deserves. The more I understand my dog the less tolerance I have for some people...

Wonder what people of Hindu cultures think of our cattle industry?

You’re probably right, but how many cows do you have as a pet in your living room? I guess it’s all about what we desire to think of what is or isn’t a pet, and what we consume for our meals...

I don't have any cows in my living room but I imagine in Hindu villages
the cows roam within close proximity of living areas with impunity.
It's all a matter of perspective.

I have no problem with people in other countries eating dogs, we eat cows, the French eat horses so whats the issue? Just because caucasians would rather keep dogs, cats, rodents. snakes etc in our homes doesnt make it any better or worse than people eating dogs. Muslims and Jews are revolted that people eat pigs and lobster or crab. To each his own(meal).

What is so heartbreaking about that, only because you like dogs? Do you feel the same about pigs and cows (its the same thing)?

Many people also eat horsemeat. In the Andes region they eat Guinea Pigs (tastes like pork, but like squirrel, too much work for very little meat).

When people have an empty stomach and need of food they will eat a lot of things. insects are very popular in places along with other animals, I often wonder what the people of North Korea eat!

It is my understanding, that some are so hungry, they eat each other.

And, this one is just the tip of the iceberg.

Some people cannot face reality!!!!
Cattle, sheep, swine, fowl and so on all food.
Would I eat dog? not knowingly but I understand that people eat what is available and within their income range.
