Hi Everyone,
I am new to Uglyhedgehog.com. i have been looking over the site, the photos, the comments etc... Gotta say, this seems to be a great community that I feel privileged to now be part of. I do have a question for anyone who is willing to answer. I have a Nikon D60 and D3400. I am looking for a decent 10 to 20 mm wide angle lense that does not have a fish eye affect. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the UHH.
The Tamron 10-24 has almost no fisheye effect except at the widest end. The Samyang 14 mm (under several brand names, mine is Boyer) doesn't fish eye either.

Welcome!

Try this review? http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/10-20mm.htm
Ken says it will work on your D3400, but not on your D60... which sucks I know, but may be acceptable?

Yes welcome to UHH I need to warn you it can be, I wont say addicting, but at least rather consuming of time following just a few of the threads on offer. A few years ago I had the Sigma 10-20 and it actually performed really well but I found the range too limiting. 6 months ago I bought a Tokina 12-28 f4 DX before hand I did extensive research. So when you look at Ken Rockwell bring that one up as well I think you will be impressed with his comments. But I would never rely on his comments alone at times he is a bit much but his heart is in the right place he has done a lot to advance photography knowledge. Thing about the Tokina 12-28 f4 it can be used as a very useful wide to semi normal something I find great. Its a big solid lens and all the tests have shown it to be very low distortion. Ken coments the range in particular is best on the market for DX and I can only agree. Also it is constant f4

Welcome! I agree with Kiwi1 - I have the Tokina 11-16 and love it but the 12-28 might give you a little more in range. The autofocus and sharpness is really nice in the Tokinas.

Yes this is the first Tokina I have owned. The DX wide Nikons were over priced and there were a lot of mixed opinion about their performace. A good range of expert opinions were a lot more consistant with the Tokinas. It is a concern that I have read too many reviews of Nikon product with sample variation including the 200-500. Even Thom Hogan reports the same and has said it is simply not good enough. Nikon is again complacent when it comes to the DX range. The world market for all DSLRs is down by 50 percent in 5 years and Sony is on the rise. Canon and Nikon have good reason to be concerned at a time when 3rd party suppliers are lifting their game Sigma is doing very well with their Art series and the market is getting the taste for morrorless. Canon and Nikon will catch up but they will loose customers along the way as Sony is now right up on their game it is becoming a 3 way race because the other 2 are sitting on their hands.

Hi Jefg..dont take any notice of Sharpshooter he is a Canon owner who delights in poking fun at any Nikon owner he can. Notice I did say Canon was also sitting on its hands and I am hearing that from honest Canon owners they agree they are also behind the ape ball no Mirrorless FF from them either. So he does not have much to crow about while Sony is laughing all the way to the bank also taking Canon customers.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension - a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into the Hedgehog Zone. Welcome!
