Brown waters in mid-country always remind me of Mark Twain's observation that a glass of Mississippi water was both food and water; what rose to the top was good to drink and what settled to the bottom was good to eat. Of course, that may have been before Chicago reversed a river that flowed into Lake Michigan to drain the city to the south.
Nice shots,it looks like the river has flowed over its banks in places.
Most of Northern Indiana streams look like that. The creek behind our house normally around 3-4 inches deep is now at least six feet deep.
