Saw Vicksart's great pet photos and got the bug to do something a little different. Possibly "class up" the standard cute "adopt me" shelter photo.

My wife and I (sleepydrdr) volunteer at a local shelter to take photos that they can post on Facebook, Instagram, Petfinder etc.

It's gonna be a long road...lol

I love the fourth one. The eyes really stand out. I'm a dog person myself. Just don't have time for one now. I thought about volunteering at the local animal shelter but I'd want to adopt most of the dogs.

Yeah...a hazard of the job. On the other hand, when you volunteer at a shelter your job is to get someone else to adopt the dogs and cats.
And when people come in and ask for a dog or cat you have photographed and take it home...It's pretty fulfilling.

I'm sure it is fulfilling. I save my two daily newspapers and take them to the shelter to be shredded and used in the kennels. I've also picked up several strays and held them and called the Animal Control to pick them up. I always follow up and have been told that all were claimed. That's a pretty good feeling.

Great shots.
(But someone put the cat together wrong in the third.)

Maybe it was a bad Photoshop alteration. He just reversed the head.

It looks to me as though you’ve made a pretty good start. Only problem I can see is with the cat in the 3rd image. His head is screwed on wrong - LOL! Just kidding. I know he’s just looking up.

This one gave me a good laugh. Looks as though he just got back from a night of boozing it up with his friends.

These are excellent. I especially love the 3rd on. Very unique perspective.

I guessed I looked like that last night. I was scared to look in the mirror.

Beautiful animals - hope they all find forever homes. Is the last one a Maine Coon?

OMG. I could come with a really racist joke there but I'm not sinking that low.
