Try using Aperture priority & a a higher ISO ... that may give you a fast shutter speed 1/1000 or higher. I am getting much sharper pictures by doing that lately in the lower light overcast winter days....on bright sunny days I am trying to still have a high shutter speed it helps my shakier hands. I use my tripod as much as possible.
