Yes, I found it to be sharper than the 2.8 and a lot lighter (both in hand and wallet)

I had a the first version of the 70-200 f2.8 VR and have to agreed with DXO on the sharpness of the f4 (I used both lenses on D800 & D750). Reason for selling? This is the last DSLR lens I own, thinking that I will go back someday, but never did.

Not even close! I own both the F4 and the latest F2.8 version, and I had many 2.8 versions before the current. The F4 is a good lens, but not better than the 2.8 version, although it is both lighter and less expensive. My opinion come from actual use, not photographing charts! Best of luck with your sale.
