I've been reading UHH post for a few months now. Haven't posted much as I don't want to skin my ignorance in public. One thing I've noticed is there are more than a few folks who are quick to call the ignorant stupid. I've been burning film, and now pixels, for more than 50 years and I know a few things about it, but learn something new every time I read the forums. Sometimes it's just how mean some folks can be. I'll go back to lurking, but if I post, it will be positive and helpful, I hope.

Welcome. I've been here for a while also but do tend to post fairly often. I feel sorry for the folks that feel they have to make negative comments about minor things so they can feel superior, I guess. Personally I've learned to just ignore them. It's kind of fun to stir them up every so often...try using dpi or ppi in a sentence - they will come out of the woodwork..........

Welcome! Post away. I have asked some stupid questions but try to learn from the answers - most of the grounded folks on here are willing to help without question. Even the most curmudgeonly responses are those just having a bad day.

I agree with your observations. I have been a "Hog" for only two months or so now but keep returning because, for the most part, I find the responses and posts to be both interesting and very helpful. Several of the long time members continue to provide excellent and on-point responses. I, too, am put off by the few who seem to require a snarky or sarcastic response to make themselves feel better. I see no advantage whatsoever to telling someone who has a question that his question is silly or was answered back in 2016 (long before he was a member.) I continue to appreciate the generally very useful topics and references provided every day. I am reluctant to tell my wife how long I spend everyday reading the Hog.

You will always have rude and snarky people, you can't not participate in live because of a few people. I find most of the people here to be friendly and helpfull and I ignore those who are not. The helpfull and friendly advice I get here ate more important to me than not feeling upset by rude people. The more people we have here that are making respectfull comments the less weight rude comments have, you should join the conversation and help to make this a place where people feel welcome.

Hope to see some of your work soon.

Welcome to our forum. Don't let the trolls bother you hope you will keep posting. I was the same way when I joined, but now I enjoy participating. Like you I refuse to be snarky, I enjoy good constructive conversation and that is what you will mostly find here. Look forward to more of your posts.
