Nikon Coolscan IV packing box is spoken for. Thanks.
I have a packing box from a Nikon Coolscan IV scanner that is no longer with me. Before I cut it up for recycling, I wondered if someone could use it. I'll hold on to it for a week or so and if someone wants it, it's yours for $10 plus shipping to you. ($10 to cover my time running it around, etc.) Let me know if you're interested and sometime next week, if no takers, I'll just recycle it. Oh, I have some of the paperwork for it included. See photos below.
There is a fellow on eBay who refurbs and repairs all the Coolscan scanners. I think his eBay Id is Nikon_coolscan "somthing or other. It may be worth something to him?
Thanks - I'll see if I can find him.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but who is that? I've shipped mine back to Nikon for a fix-it, but I'm afraid that's probably not possible again.

I will look and see if I can find his address. I spoke with him on the telephone about my Nikon SuperCoolScan ED5, because the OEM drivers only work on Windows XP. He suggested using VueScan which worked very well for me, and he also has info on the hacks that will make the OEM software work on later versions of Windows.
He buys and rebuilds/refurbs them and resells them on eBay, and also sells service for your machines as an eBay service.

OK, his name on eBay is nikon_coolscan. Right now he has various services and parts listed on eBay if you look at all his listings. He often has different models of the scanners for sale as well.
that's nikon(underscore)coolscan user ID

Hi Duane,
I purchased the Nikon Coolscan IV scanner from you back on July 28, 2017. I was surprised it didn't come in the box. How about you ship the packaging and paperwork to me?
If you need my address again, just let me know.
Thanks,
Rich Janney
Hi Rich,
I couldn't find the box back when I sold the scanner to you - it was buried up in the attic over the garage, and I discovered it when I was pulling another box out of there yesterday. Someone else has already requested it, so if that falls through I'll let you know.
Duane
Duane,
You told me you didn't have the box. I could use both the box and the paperwork.
Seems like you could give me some priority.
Thanks
Rich
Why didn't you just quote the email you sent to me, Rich. When I sold you the scanner, I could not find the box because it had fallen behind other items in my attic. It was not posted or described as having the box available because of that. Now, I'm just trying to not waste the box when I found it. I no longer had your contact info, so I offered it here. If Bob wants to relinquish his claim on the box, and you want to pay for my time and shipping costs ($10 +shipping), then I'll be glad to send it your way. But Bob responded first, so I will honor that request unless he decides to relinquish it.... I'm trying to be fair here.
Duane
Thanks - I emailed him and he was not interested. Doesn't matter - it's no longer available anyway.

Actually, there's a work-around for Windows 7. Mine works just fine on it. And THANKS!
