Thanks, Merry! The lighting worked well since I was using a tripod. It was nice soft light coming through a translucent ceiling. Not very bright at all but with the tripod I could still use any aperture and keep the ISO low.

SF has a wonderful arboretum as well as a hall of flowers. I keep meaning to go, but you know what they say about good intentions.

The PSE 13 "Missing Manual" has already been a very helpful resource. Thank you for that. UPS will be dropping something off for you later in the week that I think you'll enjoy. You might want to use some shots from your Camera Club outing....that's all I'll tell you.

I’m glad you got the book, Vicki. I found it very helpful. One of the nice things about this orchid grower is that they didn’t mind tripods. The lighting was fairly subdued so using a tripod made a big difference!
