Shot with Nikon Df, ISO 200, hand held, f8, 1/250th with Nikkor 24mm AFD, bright sunlight with light wispy clouds. I had no filters with me. Original was in RAW. My question is: Is there a way to increase sky contrast and deal with the glare from the left metal roof beyond the in program polarizer in PS 2018. Also, I entered the lens used in the lense correction tab to little effect. This is for future reference in future shots. It will be some time before I return to Louisiana.
Do you have Lightroom? In the color image, apply a graduated filter from the top left and end lined up with the roof diagonal; apply a DeHaze filter and a slight contrast adjustment. For the ground and the "body" of the structure, another diagonal graduated filter from the bottom right of the image to the rightmost edge of the roof. Open up shadows to reveal hidden details. Then do the B&W conversion.

Yes I have LR but only using PS thus far but I will see if I can figure out how to do as suggested in LR. Thus far LR has largely baffled me. Thanks for taking a moment to respond. I am learning PP but at a snail's pace it seems.

OK Robert,
I tried to follow your advice. It is much lighter on download and do not know why the small version is so dark compared to the download. Here's what I got thus far:
