disappeared photos in lightroom

someone linked a site that had an excellent explanation of how to fix this..
i remember it but didn't need it then, i could use it now.
somehow delinked photos from lightroom so I get question marks and
"photo cannot be found" when i try to find the photo.
anyone help?

You probably moved the photos to a different folder or location on your computer. You can tell lightroom to find the photo in its new location and itcwill relink.

Right click on question mark folder/image. Pop up will say to find photos. Browse to location of photos. Select location.

It is best to perform your file maintenance (moving, creating folders, renaming, etc.) inside Lightroom. If you use File Explorer, Lightroom gets upset as you have discovered. It was hard for me to break the File Explorer habit but I'm glad I did. My relationship with LR has improved ever since.
