The woodpecker was in the shade so I had to use a flash w/extender.

D500 1/250s ISO 100 f8 400mm.

I don't know if it needs tuning but I'll explore that when I get the tripod collar. I have the console.

The lens is worst at 400mm but I think its still very good.

I saw good feather definition on enlarging the screen image. I really like the catch light in the bird's eye.

I would say it is petty good. That woodpecker is very sharp and the color is very good also.

I am thinking the light from the flash probably made a big difference in the sharpness of the image as well as color representation. Would I be correct?
