My best friend bought my Meade 8" SCT and mount from me and this is his very first shot of the Orion Nebula and the Moon.
Nikon D5500 unmodified, Meade 8" 2050mm, Batinov Focuser, 30 sec, f/10, ISO 640 for the Orion Nebula.
1/100 sec, f/10, ISO 100 for the Moon shot.

He is off in the right direction.
Nice moon shots and the Orion is really good for a first time outing.
Let him know he done pretty good.
