Nugget was rescued from some people that moved away and left his mother, 4 brothers and 3 sisters in a pen with no food or water, he was 8 weeks old when I got him.
Ally Jo was in a pen 8X8ft with no dog house or cover from the heat and rain, she almost lost all her hair from laying in the filth and mud, it was after 8 baths that I could start to be around her from the smell, she was one year old when I got her. they both are excellent dogs, I'm still training Ally Jo, the first time I put a collar and leash on her it was like roping a wild bronco. She has now learned to sit, come and walk on a leash, I am now working on her to stay when I tell her.
I do not have to tell Nugget twice to do anything. but he thinks his job it to protect my wife, he goes where ever she goes, if I want to find my wife I find Nugget first
Beautiful dog, beautiful shots. The third in dappled sunlight is gorgeous.
Bless you for giving these wonderful pooches a great home, Johnny. Your portraits of them show how beautiful they are. It makes me sick to hear of abandonment and other types of mistreatment of pets.
Reading this, Johnny, brought tears!! People like that should be penned up and put in the same conditions and left there.... Thank goodness you rescued these two beautiful fur-babies and I know they repay you daily for your love!!!
Thanks for sharing their story and these beautiful photos!!!

Thanks Donna, yes it makes sick also, I don't know about people sometimes, Some don't know what it takes to take care of a big dog like these, it take a lot of room for them to romp.

It really pains to read instances such as these ! How could these folks simply abandon them ?
Bless you for taking such good care of them. They know it too.
BTW, great shots !

Sad... what horrible memories she has, but in time the good memories will outweigh the bad.
