What do they mean by 'White Box'?
Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens!! BRAND NEW White Box

I believe it is a lens that was part of a kit to be included with a new camera but was removed from the kit and is now being sold by itself.

In retail, White Box referred to product that was intended to be sold at a price lower than what the manufacturer posted. So you would take the color sleeve off the box and sell it that way.

I may be wrong but I do think that Nikon ships it's refurbs in a white box.

In a brand new 'white box', I guess it's possible, but I won't get to know until Christmas :)

In my experience, refurbs and lenses sold as parts of a "kit" come in white boxes.

The are actually cardboard brown, but yes, the concept is the same.

Well the last refurb I purchased, a D2H which was some years back did come in the white box, things have changed.

Usually a notation like that means they have taken a kit apart, and are selling the pieces separately - kind of like purchasing a bag of candy bars and then selling the bars separately even though the wrapping of each one says "not labeled for retail sale" {or some such thing}
