What adapter do you use...what lenses have you had the best experience with. Does the in camera stabilization make a difference with the older lenses.

Thanks for your opinions

I use Sony A7r a lot. It has a full frame sensor like your A7II but not the stabilization.

I use this camera only with manual lenses, legacy glass etc. The adapters I use when using Nikon glass are 2 different types. One has aperture control, the other does not have that. The aperture control is handy when using modern Nikon lenses that do not have aperture ring.

The adapter with the aperture ring is called Fotasy N/G Nex and the other is simply called AI/NEX. I got them both on Ebay for $10-15 each.

The in camera stabilizing should work fine with both those adapters as long as you turn it on.

I have had good experience with all lenses I have put on my camera with those adapters as long as the lens is a good one. You can use the old 28-80 3.3-5.6 plastic lens from the film days. It is an excellent lens an light weight, I sometimes use that one.
I also use a Samyang 14 mm lens with Nikon mount, a 35 mm old Nikkor lens, a 50 mm Nikon AF-D lens, an old Nikon 85 f/1.8 lens to name a few that all deliver excellent pictures on my Sony with those adapters and those are lenses I use a lot. I have no native Sony lenses or other autofocus lenses to use on my Sony camera, use it solely with manual focus lenses.

Here is a link to Fotasy adapter with aperture control http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fotasy-NANG-Nikon-G-type-DX-AFS-Lens-to-Sony-E-Mount-NEX-Camera-Adapter-NO-TAX/232474707027?hash=item3620928453:g:by4AAOSwdvtZq0KV

And here is a link to adapter that looks exactly as my other adapter http://www.ebay.com/itm/AI-NEX-For-Nikon-AI-Lens-to-Sony-E-Mount-A7R-A7II-A6000-NEX-3-5-6-7-Adapter-Ring/272846924872?hash=item3f86f1ac48:g:efoAAOSwEZdaAvu6

And here is a link to a new model adapter with some kind of tripod mount. If you are shooting on a tripod something like this could be a good idea, not least if you are using heavy lenses on your camera. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEINOX-AI-NEX-Adapter-with-long-Tripod-Nikon-AI-AIS-Lens-to-Sony-E-A7II-A6300-A9/252691102579?hash=item3ad5903b73:g:Ru8AAOSwMtxXtqtp

Thank you so much for the info...I have been using a Fuji x-t10 and older Nikon MF lenses for awhile. My consistence is not that good...I probably end up deleting at least 60% of my shots (mainly indoor shooting/outside is much better). I like the idea of FF and Stabilization that the Sony A7ll seems to offer and maybe the metering system in the Sony is better suited to what I am trying to do...

Again thanks for your response.

I do not know about the metering system in the Fuji but you can get a histogram picture in the viewfinder on the Sony plus it is easy to set it up for focus magnifying and then it is very easy to get all shots in focus and properly exposed every time.
