More Snow Today

We got about 5" on Saturday, and it looks like we'll get another 5" today. The town plow is out there now, tearing up the first ten feet of my lawn. On the plus side, they plow several hundred pounds of crushed stone onto my lawn, so in the spring I go out and shovel it up. I hope they don't start billing me for it. I guess I could complain, but then the driver would probably bring the truck right up to my door.

Same thing here in New Hampshire. My house is on a gentle curve but the snowplow driver pretty much goes straight onto my lawn until he finally realizes he has to turn the wheel. Taking a cue from my neighbors I bought a few of those orange, reflective rods and sunk them in the ground about 12" off the edge of the pavement along the curve. Seemed to work as he plowed right up to them but didn't hit them. Once there's a snow embankment established, they follow that when they plow.
