I don't watch cooking shows, but people have told me that the Gordon Ramsey shows in England and the USA are a bit different. In this country, Gordon is known as the chef who screams and curses throughout most of the show, while he is much more calm in the English shows. I wonder why.

I don't know why but I do like his shows and I am a fan of his cooking.

He's really a sweetheart in real life...much of that is for the show but not all of it; he was trained in that sort of environment in his early years...he said it makes an impression that you won't ever forget. You learn to pay attention and take things seriously.

Bobby Flay tried to do a show like Gordon's where he helped failing restaurants, but he was too nice and got cancelled.

Gordon Ramsey is just a "reality show" brand. He could be president in the US but they wouldn't wear it as PM in the UK.

I agree, he's an objectional person and not a typical example of all the other British Chefs such as James Martin etc.

I really like his "Master chef Junior" show. the kids are unbelievable. GR for the most part treats them very well. last year he offered one of the boy leaving the show to put him through a cooking school.

Because that's just what works here. I think British humor is much more subtle than U.S. humor.

I started in trucking in the early 1960's. If anyone would have spoke to any of us the way GR does on his shows, they would be laying face up and with less teeth. I won't watch anything he does because I don't support bullies. The truckers I knew were WW2 and Korean Vets. They were respectful, proud, clean speaking, and looked up to. Can't say that about GR.

Gordon Ramsey is a TV entertainer and uses language to his advantage. His
ratings would suggest there are a lot of people that like what he does. It might
not be for everyone, but neither was Lenny Bruce of George Carlin. Don't like
him, don't watch him. Easy.

Being a widower I eat all my meals out. Cooking shows is like watching paint dry.

He met his match here in Az at Amy's Baking Company. He walked out on them. Basically, he said they were beyond help. They are no longer in business. Gordon still has his show.
