Hello everyone.

My name is Kat and I have been reading your posts and viewing your photos for a while. I joined today in hopes of learning from all of you amazing people. I am a poet and writer but have been interested in photography since the early 2000s. Currently, I am using a Nikon 7200 and am hoping to tell stories through photography. I travel between my homes on the coast of FL and the mountains of VA so I have much inspiration from which to choose. Thank you all so much for inspiring me with your work. I look forward to learning from you and making some new friends in the process.

Here are a few images to get started. I am looking forward to interacting with you all.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice shots, but I'd level the horizon in the first.

Thank you so much for the advice. I was so taken by the holey stone and shells that I did not notice that the horizon was off because of my camera position. This morning I adjusted it and you were right! It looks so much better. Thanks to you, I will always pay close attention to that detail going forward.

As much as you can. It's easy to miss it when you get caught up in the shot.
That's where post processing comes in handy.
(Not like I've never done that before, oh no. )

Welcome to the UHH. Your posts indicate you have a pretty good handle on it! Which coast? I'm in Sarasota.

Good morning Kat, and welcome to the forum. Your work is excellent, and I do not think you will have very much trouble telling your stories through your work. We are here to help you in any way we can. As you said earlier, you were inspired with the work you saw here. Ask your questions, you will get so many answers. And, yes, you will make some good friends here. You can also use the pm feature to get to know people. Ask for critiques as in your first picture. (The slanted ocean.) It is these minute details that can be easily corrected when pointed out. But above all, HAVE FUN.
Rich...
P.S. When answering someone, use the quote button so that the person you are talking to knows that it is them you want to answer.
