It is in response I was referring to. The link is clearly there.

Thank you. I totally missed that link. I use the B+W 72 mm 010M UV-Haze MRC on most of my lenses ((3rd in the overall testing) and Hoya (1st in the overall testing) on the rest of them. Both came out excellent in the tests. I like filters on my lenses because I don't like to clean, polish or rub the surface of my lens. I prefer to clean the filter instead. And I prefer the B&W because of their superior glass and their brass mounting rings. They don't get "welded" to the lens threads like some aluminum mounts do.

My sentiments exactly. I've opted to go to clear and skylight after starting this thread. Mostly Hoya, with a few Hama.

I probably have close to that number, going back fifty years. Thanks to UHH, I learned I can buy one 77mm filter and use it on smaller lenses with step-up rings.

I use clear filters for general protection and polarizers and ND filters when appropriate. I attach them with Xume magnetic adapters so I can have them on or off in less than a second.

I have followed suit and purchased step up rings for my filters, thus enabling me to use anything from 52 to 72mm on all of my lenses. I even purchased a 72 to 77mm just so I can use my Hama 77mm glitter/cross m77 (don't want $60 sitting in a drawer.) I think I'll enjoy that filter tremendously. I have a m67 also.

You might also consider Breakthrough Photography. Exceptional quality with a 25 year warranty. No other filter company matches that.

I like B+W as well, just surprised. I have several Hoya top line ones as I support the local shop and that is all they carry. PS I personally thought the Nikon were some of the best filters for quality of manufacture and glass.

i prefer haze filters rather than ultraviolet, as they "clean" the atmosphere, whereas the uv does not.

Do you have to replace the filters after the iceland trip?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have not replaced the filter since returning. They seem to have survived the onslaught. But I am going to take a second look at them. Another problem I had was the pedals that cover my lens on the Sony RX 100M3 didn't like to cold and on a few shots the didn't quite open al the way and caused a black shade on the bottom of my image... I use this camera as my walk around and it does an amazing job especially on night shots or golden hour shots.
