Every home in Maclean seems to have a choko vine growing on a fence or a wall somewhere, lol, & countless bottles of choko chutney are made every summer. They grow very quickly & these little upstarts will be eating size in no time. Downloading is recommended.

We call them mirlitons, and they're delicious stuffed with shrimp. Interesting and pretty shots, Earl.

I've never heard of those, Earl. If I eat any, remind me to avoid the spider! lol! Outstanding shots!

Thanks, Donna--very interesting. I 'live on them' during the summer--I boil them, roast them, put them in soups & casseroles, make chutney & pickles with them, & sometimes just fry them in butter, with heaps of salt & pepper (not too healthy, but nice, lol). I can't give them away 'cos everyone else grows them, too. Most aren't intentionally grown--they 'just appear' every year, as if by magic, lol.

In reading the article and looking at the picture, Donna, I know I've seen them in the grocery store, in a section of produce that's more "exotic".
