Assuming the money didn't matter, but you wanted to keep it at or below $6500 - what would you pick? ... Nikon D5, or Fuji GFX 50S?

Tough choice, huh? ... Top-of-the-Line FF FX Dig Cam - against an overgrown eye-level MF Mirror-less Dig Cam .... ?

The Fuji is a mirrorless, not a DSLR.
The choice would depend on what subjects one shoots.
Apples and oranges again.

Portriga-Rapid, you mean, Kris?

The same $6500 would buy you all that, would it?

Then ... I'm in YOUR camp!!!!

Nope, Kodak Portra, likely Portra 400

It would be foolish to buy either one with that budget (they don't function well without a lens).

neither I would get the D850 and have cash to go on a trip where I can break it in and get some nice shots

Well, in the case of the Nikon ... I already have a few that should work fine ...

But, with the Fuji ... with an adapter ... I daresay, I could find something, Leitz ....

I’m not too sure I would go with a digital camera. I’d probably buy a Leica M6 or M6TTL with a 35mm Summicron and accessory grip. If I had to go digital, I’d look for an affordable Leica M262 or used M10 (from an extremely reputable dealer like Tamarkin).

This one is easy. Of course the D850. With the limitation of $6500 I could get some lenses for the D850 but not for the GFX. A camera with a lens is always a better option than camera with no lens
