I purchased a new Canon G3X plus various accessories for it.
Within a week testing I decided I did not like it. Returned all of it for credit and
purchased a new OM10 ll Olymplus with a 12-35f2.8 lens and a 100-300 lens. Plus extra accessories.
I still want to purchase a couple more lenses, etc.

My total cost for the G3X $1,042.00. B&H's credit to me is $504.00.

I guess that is how they like to treat their small customers.

Not sure why, or how, that was. I have been buying and occasionally returning things from B&H for over six years and would put B&H Customer Service at the top, for others to imitate. Never had a bad experience, but just the opposite. I find them to go out of their way to resolve any Customer Service issue that I have ever had. I would think there is more to your issue, hiding under the waterline. This sounds so non-B&H to me. You normally have 30 days to return with no questions asked.

Ditto! I've been dealing with them for over 30 years without a hitch.

It almost sounds like you traded it in for the new camera, rather than return it for credit. Check back with them.

Mysterious. I have found B&H to be excellent in dealing with returns, etc. Did you, by any chance, spread the purchase across 2 credit cards?

Ken,

Something went wrong in the communications. B&H does not do business that way, ever. And, in your post, you've said nothing about what they said when you asked what went wrong. Did you post here first? Or, did you ask them first?

Normally you have a full 30 days to return for a full refund, no questions asked. Because of the gift giving season, anything you buy after November 1 can be returned until Feb 1. In other words, the person you give a camera to for Christmas can return it if they don't like it.

Call them, email them or online "chat" with them. Give them a little slack for being in the busy season.

It will surprise you how fast they can fix things.

Sounds like other unstated issues were at work in this case. Suggest you calmly send your complaint in a Private Message to UHH member “Hershel” in NY City who works for B&H Photo and acts as a special customer service rep on our behalf. I don’t recommend ‘bad mouthing’ B&H until you know they are at fault.

Did you call B&H and asked them why you only got the $504.00 credit?

Peculiar how almost every time there is a post like this, the OP disappears, particularly after starting a guessing game. Usually a bs deal.

I think you can cut him a little slack. It appears he only started the thread and hour and 10 minutes before your post.

What did they say when you asked them to explain what happened?

I have never had that problem on the few occasions I have returned something to B&H.

I look forward to seeing how this situation is resolved. I’ve been buying from B&H for years without a problem.

Wrong. Something's not right here. This isn't standard M.O. for them.

What's the rest of the story that you aren't telling us?
