Years ago, when I first got my D800,this forum gave me a detailed set of custom settings for HDR that I have used since them. They were stored as settings B and were always just a switch away.
Can anyone give me the custom settings for HDR to,plug into my new D850.
Love this forum and y’all are wonderful! Thanks in advance!
As always, please have a Great Day!

What HDR settings? Are you talking about in camera HDR or image composites done in Lightroom or some other editing program?

"Custom" settings are just that - customized for a particular individual or situation. The links below should help, and maybe you can develop some custom links of your own.

Have you tried using the same settings? If they worked for you with the D800, it would seem to work for the D 850. Conceptually it’s about exposure, so they would be interchangeable.

Shoot manual exposure, preset white balance, auto bracket mode and 1-2 stops between exposures. Make sure you don't change focus, aperture or ISO - so that there is consistency in focus, depth of field and the only thing that should change is the shutter speed.

It always depends on the location (existing lighting) and how many shots you wan't to take for your HDR, also by how many stops you want to bracket! There are no one settings for all, because there is no one "light" all the time!!

Maybe this is an opportunity for you to take charge and decide your settings for yourself based on each situation?

I set up a custom setting on my Canon 7d II for HDR for landscapes. When selected, the following are the settings:
- Aperture priority
- f/13
- full-size RAW
- ISO 100
- 5 shots at 0, +1, +2, -1, & -2 stops
- Center-weighted averaging
- One-Shot AF
- 2-second self-timer

I consider this a starting point, and may vary them depending on circumstances, but it saves a lot of time.
